A MOTORIST has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after his car overturned at a roundabout.

Emergency services were called to the Darras Hall area of Northumberland at about 1.15am this morning. (Friday, May 20) Police said the one-vehicle collision involved at white BMW X5 and happened at the roundabout near Callerton Lane.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with multiple injuries to his head and ribs.

His next of kin are aware and are being supported by officers.

Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the collision and police are now appealing for anybody with information to come forward.

The road was closed for a number of hours but has since reopened.
