A 70-year-old man has been charged in connection with an incident which resulted in one of the Jim Clark Rally stages being cancelled.
The race was brought to a halt after a vehicle was found to be blocking the road on the Westruther stage of the world-famous event.
The delays resulted in a second stage at Eccles also being cancelled.
A number of posts on social media suggested the incident was related to a protest against parking in a nearby field.
Police Scotland confirmed that they had launched an investigation.
This afternoon they confirmed that a 70-year-old man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences.
No-one was injured during the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police attended at the Westruther stage of the Jim Clark Rally on Saturday, 28 May, 2022 following the report of a vehicle blocking the road.
"There were no injuries and an 70-year-old man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences."
