POLICE in the Scottish Borders are keen to speak to the driver of a white hatchback, possibly a BMW 1 Series, who was in The Square Kelso on Friday afternoon May 27 2022.

The driver stopped to assist an 83-year-old woman who was injured in what police have described as ‘an incident involving a pedestrian and a car.’

The incident took place around 2.45pm and emergency services were called to the scene in response to a report of a woman having fallen onto the roadway and hitting her head.

Officers attended along with members of the Scottish Ambulance Service who treated the woman.

An investigation has now been launched to establish the full circumstances and officers are now keen to speak to the driver.

Constable Ruaridh Nairn of Kelso Police Station said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.”

“We are keen to speak to the driver of a white hatchback, possibly a BMW 1 Series, who was in the area at the time of the incident and stopped to assist.”
