SENTENCE has been deferred on a Borders man who admitted having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.

David Steel, of Stow, also pleading guilty to two charges of sending sexual communications to the under age female.

But another two charges of having sexual activity with two 14-year-old girls in a car parked off the B6364 Kelso to Greenlaw road on December 27, 2019, were dismissed following a debate at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.

Steel, now 24, had already pleaded guilty to having sex with the 15-year-old girl at his home at Mitchelson Farm Cottages, near Stow, between May 6, 2017, and May 5, 2018.

He also admitted sending her messages on various occasions between June 2017 and May 2018 containing sexual remarks and demanding she send him indecent images and videos of herself.

Steel pleaded guilty to a third charge of repeatedly sending the 15-year-old sexual communication without her consent on March 2018 saying she should engage in sexual activity with him in exchange for a lift home. Sentence was deferred until July 4 for the production of background reports.
