AN ALCOHOL thief who got involved in a disturbance with a store security guard has been jailed at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Forty-year-old Martin Charlotte pleaded guilty to theft by shoplifting and threatening or abusive conduct and making a racist comment towards the man who challenged him at a Galashiels store last July.
The court heard Charlotte, formerly of Hawick and who gave an address in Jedburgh, was not due to be released from another prison sentence until August 30.
Sheriff Janys Scott imposed a nine-week jail sentence to run from August 30.
