GALA woman Indy Geraghty was ‘overwhelmed’ when boyfriend Myles Goodfellow proposed in front of thousands of cheering festival goers during rapper Yung Filly’s set at Parklife in Manchester on Saturday, June 11.

But after sharing the memorable moment on social media, the couple were targeted with messages of abuse from internet trolls when the footage went viral.

Indy (23) said: “I’d booked Parklife as a present four week ago, but Myles planned the rest.

“When we arrived, I was told by Myles and his friend that we had a surprise meet and greet with Yung Filly behind stage before his set.

“That was exciting enough, and we are big fans watched him perform a few songs from backstage.

“Then before I knew it Myles had grabbed my hand and took me out front. I was so confused, there were a thousand thoughts going through my head but when Yung Filly handed the mike to Myles it clicked and I thought “here, really?” but in a good way. I wouldn’t change a thing.

“I was so overwhelmed. It’s something I will never forget and one of the happiest days of my life.”

Parklife founder and Warehouse Project boss Sacha Lord saw the posts and immediately offered the pair an all-expensed honeymoon and tickets granting them access to the festival for the rest of their lives.

Indy said she “couldn’t believe it” when she received the call the following day.

She added: “I woke up in the morning and saw some bad comments on social media. It was sad to see at first but eventually I just stopped reading them.

“Sacha phoned me the day after it happened and reassured me that the trolls were not worth it. He made me feel so much better, and then offered us free entry for the rest of our lives and a honeymoon.

“It was such a kind gesture, and I couldn’t believe it. We’ve not fixed a date for the wedding, but it will probable be 2024 and we’ve not chosen where the honeymoon will be yet.”

Myles (25) said: “I’d been thinking about it for some time and got a friend to tell Indy that he had arranged a meet and greet with Yung Filly. I had a ring but got my friend Jordan (Robson) to take it through security.

"Indy was made up and on cloud nine. The comments from the tolls didn’t phase me, and they have probably done us a favour. There have been many positive comments since then.”
