BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a Borders man who admitted six offences.
Forty-two-year-old Paul Madden, of Hawick, appeared from custody at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday and pleaded guilty to four counts of theft by shoplifting and also theft from a motor vehicle and assaulting a retail worker who was engaged in retail work at the time.
Sentence was deferred until July 18.
