BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into two Borders men who admitted shoplifting offences after appearing from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Monday afternoon.
Forty-one-year-old Paul Madden, of Eastfield Road, Hawick, and 32-year-old Darren Devlin, of Oliver Park, pleaded guilty to stealing a quantity of meat and cakes from Iceland in Victoria Road, Hawick, on Friday and then making threats towards two named females in the store.
The pair also admitted stealing items from Lovely Stuff in Oliver Place with Madden pleading guilty to a fourth charge of stealing a quantity of deodorant from Boots the chemist in High Street, Hawick.
Sentence was deferred until August 1 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
