POLICE in the Scottish Borders have thanked the public for their help in tracing a missing 15-year-old girl.
Una Zange was reported missing from Galashiels yesterday having been last seen in Lauder at 2pm.
Police issued an appeal to the public after her friends and family grew concerned about her welfare.
Details of the appeal along with a photo and description of Una were widely circulated on social media.
This afternoon police confirmed that Una was safe and well in Edinburgh.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Thank you very much for sharing our appeal to trace Una Zange who had been reported missing from Galashiels.
“She has been traced in Edinburgh. Thank you again.”
