PLANNED concerts of the world-famous Treorchy Male Voice Choir from Wales scheduled for the Borders next month have been cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
The events, at Innerleithen on Friday, August 5, Galashiels on Saturday, August 6 and Hawick on Sunday, August 7, will no longer take place.
Organiser Bill Turner from Galashiels had hoped to raise cash for the Margaret Kerr Unit at the Borders General Hospital, as well as the Rowan Boland Trust in Galashiels and Oliver’s Trust in Hawick.
He said: "It’s a massive disappointment but people tell me that the current increase in Covid numbers make them reluctant to attend such events so this was probably the wrong time.
“People who have bought tickets will get refunded.”
