A 26-YEAR-OLD man has admitted being the owner of two "Eastern European rescue dogs" involved in a sheep-worrying incident in the Borders.

A number of animals were killed or injured in the attack at Posso Farm in the Manor Valley on March 10.

Selkirk Sheriff Court heard Dale Scott – who gave an address at Abbotsford Road in Galashiels – was responsible for the Carpathian Shepherd mix dog, and another Tornjack mix which chased and attacked them.

But sentence was deferred on the first offender – who was represented in court by solicitor Mat Patrick – until July 25 for a personal appearance.

At the time, it was reported 11 sheep died in the attack and 20 were injured – at an estimated cost to the farm of around £45,000.
