A MAN who was sentenced on three different complaints relating to his former partner has been warned he is on the verge of custody.

Nineteen-year-old Marian Tosa was sentenced for assault, threatening or abusive behaviour and breaches of bail on March 21 and May 8.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court was told that neighbours could hear the screams of his partner at a house in Hawick, and Tosa being abusive towards her.

Sheriff Janyss Scott told the car wash worker: “You are just about at the end of the road as far as your liberty is concerned.”

She added that if it was not for his age he would have been sent to a young offenders institution for a custodial sentence.

Tosa was given a two-year Community Pay Back order with supervision as a direct alternative to custody.

He was placed on a night time home curfew at a house in Hawick between the hours of 7pm and 7am.

A Non-Harassment Order was also imposed in relation to his former partner and another named woman for one year.
