YORKSHIRE man Keith Edmondson is undertaking a personal 500 mile pilgrimage and raising funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
The pilgrimage started yesterday August 25, leaving from St Jean de Pied de Port in France and finishes at the tomb of St James the Greater in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
Keith met Doddie at a rugby club event just before the announcement of his diagnosis.
And since then he was one of a number from Selby Rugby Club that participated in fundraising activity as part of the Wounded Lions 500, cycle ride to deliver the match ball for kick-off at the Scotland vs England match at 4.45pm on 8 February 2020.
Now he has decided to pay his own personal tribute to Doddie’5 cause and before starting he already surpassed his initial target of £2,000.
He said: “My personal walk would be a fine opportunity to raise money and support the Foundation. I am also assured that the Foundation works very closely with Rob Burrow’s charity”.
My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was founded by former Scotland International and British Lion, Doddie Weir, following his Motor Neurone Disease diagnosis to fund research for a cure to the devastating disease.
