THE Scottish Borders Walking Festival is set to make its return.

The event – which starts on Sunday (September 4) and runs until September 10 – is being opened by the Braw lad and Lass.

There are more than 40 walks on offer, from ‘easy’ to ‘extra strenuous’.

A spokesperson said: “We are back and it’s going to be huge. Scrape the mud and cobwebs off your boots and join us for this year’s Scottish Borders Walking Festival.”

Head over to galawalk.com and follow the link to Eventbrite to book walks.

There is also evening entertainment available including a quiz at Quins on Monday and a talk at the Focus Centre by Mark Nichol from Discover Scottish Borders on Tuesday, followed by bingo. On Thursday there will be a nostalgic disco and karaoke, beer tasting and a chance to put a stitch in the newest Tapestry panel. Saturday will see the final farewells at the Focus Centre.
