FOLLOWING a two-year enforced break, Peebles Highland Games made a welcome return to the town.

And this year the Games celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Despite a long hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, organisers of the Games say they “went very well”.

Chris Patterson from the Games said: “It was quite challenging at times staging the games again after a three-year break.

“We have had some changes on our committee and so we had some people who were experiencing the games for the first time and so the burden on the more longstanding committee members was further increased.

“However, that said, the games went very well in the end and we got very lucky with the weather given the terrible forecast.

“As always, we’d be delighted to hear from anyone who could offer any help or who would be interested in joining the committee.”
