A NUMBER of alterations have been made to trade and domestic waste collections scheduled for Monday September 19 when the state funeral for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll will take place.

On Monday all household general waste, recycling and food waste collections are cancelled and all Community Recycling Centres, Council Offices, Waste Transfer Stations & Weighbridge facilities will be closed.

In some areas waste and recycling collections have been rescheduled and will take place either on Saturday September 17 or at some point during week commencing September 19

For all other areas scheduled for a collection on Monday SBC have issued the following advice:

  • We will aim to collect excess general waste and recycling on your next scheduled collection day.
  • On this day, please note bins and bags may be collected later than usual as we attempt to catch up.
  • Remove any uncollected waste or recycling at the end of this day from the kerbside and re-present on your next scheduled collection day.
  • Please do not report the non-collection of any waste or recycling as a missed bin over this period.
  • Please note that, in some cases, it may take more than one scheduled collection to catch up.
  • If you have a food waste collection service, once your bin caddy is full, please dispose of excess food materials in your general waste bin.
  • Excess materials can also be taken to your local Community Recycling Centre.  Please check site opening days and hours.

Recycling collections due to take place in the undernoted areas on Monday September 19 will now be collected on Saturday September 17.
