A NUMBER of "high value" mountain bikes have been stolen from a low loader in the Borders, according to police.

The incident is said to have happened on St Ronan's Terrace, Innerleithen, overnight between 11pm on Sunday (September 18) and 9am on Monday.

Officer are appealing to the public for information.

Detective constable Andrew Forsyth, of Galashiels CID, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or saw anything suspicious in the area.

“Likewise we are keen to speak to anyone who may be offered these kind of bikes for sale.”
