A BORDERS theatre company has received a funding boost thanks to two national charities.
Tweed Theatre in Peebles has been given £500 by Localgiving and the People’s Postcode Trust.
The funding boost will help Tweed Theatre provide dance classes for cast members of this year’s Christmas pantomime.
This year’s pantomime will be Cinderella.
Katharine Mathison, director of Tweed Theatre, said: “Without grant funding, organisations like Tweed Theatre would not be able to develop young people and support them to gain valuable theatre skills, learn team work and communication and encourage their creativity.
“The award from the People’s Postcode Lottery has enabled us to work with Alex Saunders of Live for Dance and develop some really cool dances for our upcoming Christmas show.”
Cinderella will come to the Eastgate Theatre from December 1-3.
Tickets are available now from the Eastgate Theatre box office, on 01721 725777 or at www.eastgatearts.com
