SUSTAINABLE Borders outdoor clothing brand FINDRA has popped up in John Lewis Edinburgh with a ‘ready-to-layer’ collection of merino wool men’s and womenswear, as well as cosy accessories made in Scotland.

As part of The Great British Pop-up, an initiative that supports small and independent UK businesses, the Innerleithen brand can be found in-store at St James Centre from 10-16 October.

Alex Feechan, FINDRA founder said: ‘’Ready to layer’ is our way of explaining the versatility of FINDRA clothing, I design every piece to work together, using complementary colours, so t-shirts can be worn on their own in summer or over a long-sleeved top in winter.

“From merino wool socks to waterproof jackets, it means our clothing really can be worn all year round – you just add – or remove – a layer depending on the weather.

‘It is fantastic to be popping up in a store like John Lewis; it’s a beautiful space with so much under one roof – it makes shopping and present-buying what it should be, an enjoyable experience.”

Prior to launching FINDRA in 2014, Feechan enjoyed a 20-year career as a knitwear designer in the fashion industry, working with the likes of Chanel, Calvin Klein and Escada.

“I learned a great deal about textiles during my time in the fashion industry and nothing beats ethically sourced merino for clothing. The natural fibres present in merino wool help to regulate temperature – keeping you warm in the cold and cool in warmer weather - merino is also breathable, odour-resistant, hard-wearing and recyclable. And most people don’t realise just how comfortable it is, but the yarn is so finely spun it is incredibly soft and gentle on the skin.

“It really is a wonder fabric – good for the wearer and the planet – and I’m looking forward to sharing a few tips on cosy but stylish layering with John Lewis customers.”
