THE emergency department at Borders General Hospital (BGH) is “exceptionally busy”, according to the region’s health board.
Today (November 8) NHS Borders said that a number of people were requiring admission which was impacting waiting times.
A spokesperson for the health board said: “Our emergency department at the BGH is exceptionally busy today, with a number of people requiring admission.
“This is impacting the length of time that patients are waiting. If you have a minor injury or urgent health problem which isn't life-threatening, please call NHS 24 on 111.”
The spokesperson added: “Please only attend the emergency department for life-threatening emergencies.”
