MEMBERS of Tweedvale Walking Football’ Club recently held a race night in aid of their chosen charity of the year - ‘Parkinson’s UK, Borders Branch’.

Over 60 members and friends of the club had an enjoyable social evening, kindly hosted by Peebles Rugby Club, where £1466 was raised for this very worthy local cause.

Club officials, members and friends were full of praise for the support of local businesses in the area who kindly donated various gifts and vouchers which were used as either race prizes or in the raffle.

Steve Iredale said: “This was very much a community event and we are all very grateful for the fantastic local support we received in raising much needed funds for a charity very close to our hearts.
