ALTHOUGH there are plenty of houses to buy and rent in the Borders, there are also plots of land on the market.

For anyone looking to build their own home, a number of the plots have planning permission, whereas others have the opportunity to be part of a larger development.


Selkirk

The cheapest plot on our list is at Humes Close in Selkirk – on the market for £59,995.

The plot spans 0.08 of an acre and has planning permission in place for a three-bedroom detached house (reference 19/00537/ppp).

In Midlem, Hastings Legal have listed a plot at Braid Lea for offers over £125,000.

With full planning permission for a four-bed home, the plot covers approximately 0.23 acres surrounded by panoramic views.


Kelso

A plot east of Stichill Mains, near Kelso, is available for offers over £135,000 with Cullen Kilshaw.

The 0.4-acre plot has full planning permission for a four-bedroom bungalow (planning reference 21/01932/FUL).

The site also benefits from views of the surrounding countryside.

Also near Kelso is Plot 4 at Hardacres Farm in Hume.

On the market for offers over £105,000 with Hastings Legal, the plot looks out on the Lammermuir Hills.

The site has outline planning consent granted for one dwelling house (reference 16/00797/PPP) on the edge of a working farm.

Greenlaw

Three miles north of Greenlaw, a plot at Rumbletonlaw is on the market for offers over £130,000.

Listed by Hastings Legal, the plot – which sits at the end of a terrace of traditional cottages – has permission for the development of two properties.

On the Borders coast, and within Upper Burnmouth is Woodbine Grove.

This large development site covers approximately 5.29 acres, is divided into two sites. and is on the market for offers over £230,000.
