A 34-YEAR-OLD man appeared from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer last weekend.
David Bourke, of Hartrigge Road, Jedburgh, pleaded guilty kicking the officer on the leg in Channel Street, Galashiels, last Sunday evening.
He also admitted a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour.
His lawyer told the court Bourke had a dependency on alcohol and had drank several cans of cider and small bottles of vodka.
Sentence was deferred until December 12 for reports.
