A SELKIRK motorist who admitted drink driving has been banned from the road for 42 months at the town’s sheriff court.
Twenty-three-year-old Michael Futter pleaded guilty to the offence which happened in Scotts Crescent, Selkirk, on the evening of April 17 last year.
Procurator fiscal Alasdair Fay said that at around 9pm witnesses observed the accused entering a vehicle in Shawburn Road, Selkirk.
He said it was later traced where it had been parked unattended but the bonnet was warm and Futter was later found.

Mr Fay said Futter declined to give a sample of breath after being suspected of drink driving.
Futter later tested positive for drink driving.
He was disqualified for 42 months as he had a previous conviction for drink driving and fined £450.
Futter was fined £200 for failing to tell police the identity of the driver of a vehicle registered in his name and another £200 for failing to provide a sample for a preliminary breath test.
A £40 victim surcharge was added.
