POLICE have urged those who helped a Borders cyclist after a van caused her to fall from her bike to come forward.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment after the incident on Sunday, November 27 on the A6091 near the junction for Melrose.

At around 8am the cyclist was travelling westbound when a white Ford Transit van passed her, causing her to fall from the bike, according to police.

The incident was reported to officers on Monday, December 19.

PC Rory Chalmers, of Galashiels Police Station, said: “Although this incident took place on Sunday, November 27 it was reported to police on Monday, December 19 and we are carrying out enquiries.

“A number of people helped the woman at the time of the incident and would ask them to come forward as they may hold information that will assist us.

“Any witnesses or anyone with information should contact 101 with reference 1379 of December 19.”
