DETECTIVES in the Scottish Borders are appealing for information following a break-in at the fire station in Newtown Road, Duns.

Officers were alerted around 7.50am on Tuesday January 10 and they believe the break-in occurred between 10pm on Monday night and 7am on Tuesday morning.

Several items of equipment have been stolen.

Officers are continuing to review CCTV footage from around the area for any additional information on the crime.

Detective Constable Liam Myers said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area that night to think back and consider if they saw or heard anything suspicious.

I would ask any motorists with dash cam equipment who were driving to check their footage as it could have captured an image which could assist our investigation.
