The region has been hit by a spate of collisions, mostly minor but there has been one fatality and two people have been hospitalised.

Officers are advising motorists to check that their tyres, brakes, windscreens, wiper blades and windows are free from defects, clean and clear.

All snow should be removed from your vehicle before driving off.

Make sure you drive to the road conditions as stopping distances will be affected by the weather.
