AN AWARD-WINNING journalist and writer will discuss the future of Scotland with audiences in the Borders.

Organised by Yes Tweeddale, Scotland: Our Country will see journalist Lesley Riddoch - who has written for The Scotsman and The National - introduce her 2018 documentary on Iceland.

The documentary was one of three crowdfunded films made by Riddoch which saw her visit Iceland, The Faroe Islands, and Norway.

After the film Riddoch will host a discussion on Scotland's future and how it relates to her film.

Chair of Yes Tweeddale Gordon Daly said: “If you’d like to find out more about a possible inspirational model for Scotland and ask questions related to our country’s future, then you should definitely come along."

In addition to the film and discussion, there will also be performances by local singers Hendry White and Aishling Samson.

The event will be held on Friday, March 10 at 7pm in St Joseph's Neighbourhood Centre in Peebles.

Scotland: Our Country is a free event, however, tickets are required.
