A BORDERS business has closed its doors for good amid a “ridiculous” rise in costs.

Weensland Car Wash in Hawick, which opened in 2018, ceased trading on Saturday (February 11).

It will result in “three local boys” losing their jobs, according to a post on the business’ Facebook page.

A spokesperson said: “It’s with great sadness that we have to announce that the car wash will cease trading this coming Saturday.

“With costs rising by a ridiculous amount, the business is no longer sustainable.

“Unfortunately, we are yet another business that has succumbed to the cost-of-living crisis, meaning job loss for three local boys.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank every single customer who has supported us over the years.

“We started this business in 2018, never expecting it to run so well up until now and that’s all thanks to you.”
