VOTING is now open for the inaugural Galashiels Heartland Awards 2023, supported by Energise Galashiels Trust.

There are six categories in total and you can only vote for each category ONCE, so cast your vote wisely.

Three finalists for each category will be chosen based on the highest amount of nominations and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Friday 31st of March at the Great Tapestry of Scotland Visitor Centre.

The Categories are as follows:

Best Food & Drink. Business must be based in TD1 postal area, have been trading in 2022 and be within the food and drink sector which includes, but is not limited to: cafés, restaurants, pubs, bars, food trucks, takeaways or bakeries.

Best Retailer & Shopping. Businesses must be based in TD1 postal area, have been trading in 2022 and be within the retail and shopping sector which includes, but is not limited to: clothing stores, grocery stores, gift shops, jewellers or household goods.

Best Hair, Beauty & Care. Business must be based in TD1 postal area, have been trading in 2022 and be within the hair, beauty and care sector which includes, but is not limited to: hairdressers, barbers, beauticians, nail technicians, massage therapists, chiropractors, podiatrists, tanning salons, tattoo artists or piercing professionals.

Best Community Company or Group. Business must be based in TD1 postal area, have been trading in 2022 and be a community company or group which includes, but is not limited to: charity shops, ‘pay what you can’ businesses, sports clubs, walking groups, community interest companies (CICs), choirs, Scout groups or religious groups.

Best Leisure & Entertainment. Business must be based in TD1 postal area, have been trading in 2022 and be within the leisure and entertainment sector which includes, but is not limited to: cinemas, play areas, swimming pools, sporting facilities, bingos, libraries, museums, galleries.

Best Service & Repair. Business must be based in TD1 postal area, have been trading in 2022 and be within the service and repair sector which includes, but is not limited to: tradespeople, mechanics, printers, architects, solicitors, agencies, construction.
