A BORDERS brand has won a major Scottish fashion award.

AR+CO, a Borders bag and accessories brand, won the Fashion Start Up of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Association Awards last night (Thursday, February 16).

The women-led and sustainable brand was founded in 2020 by sisters Stacey Hardie-Croan and Amy Hardie.

A spokesperson for AR+CO said: "AR+CO take pride in ensuring sustainability within every aspect of the brand, from manufacturing to packaging.

"As a brand, they champion slow fashion, encourage capsule wardrobes and are passionate about creating affordable sustainable fashion."

AR+CO were also finalists for Fashion Brand of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Association Awards.

The spokesperson added: "With an ambitious team of three, Stacey, Amy and Molly run AR+CO along side full time jobs, studying and children.

"They are absolutely thrilled to have been recognised with these shortlists and even more so, their new title of Fashion Start up of The Year.

"They are eager to see what the future holds for them and are so grateful to their loyal customers for their ongoing support of their brand."

Since 2020 AR+CO has gone from strength to strength.

The brand began with one product, The Original, in two colours, and now it boasts 10 designs in a range of colours.

All the products are made from vegan leather and AR+CO bags and accessories have been sold across Scotland and the globe.
