AN AWARD-WINNING Borders restaurant is tee-ing off on a new adventure this weekend – at a golf club.

Adam’s Kitchen at 16 High Street in Hawick has picked up the ‘Best of South Scotland’ restaurant accolade from Food Awards Scotland for the last two years.

The restaurant, which utilises traditional Scottish produce, regularly attracts five star reviews on Tripadvisor.

Now owners Peter and Kamila Raczynska have announced exciting expansion plans.

On Saturday (February 25) they are to open a second eatery in Hawick Golf Club at Vertish Hill.

The new venture is being branded ‘Adam’s Kitchen in the Golf Course’.

Meanwhile, the High Street restaurant is to operate as normal.

Additionally, seven new staff have been taken on at the new venue – a doubling of the workforce.

The couple, who arrived from their native Poland just over a decade ago, know who they need to thank for their continued success – the people of Hawick.

Kamila said: “This would not be possible without the support from the people of Hawick, our customers have welcomed us into this community.

“It will be fine. I am a bit scared because it is more work for me but it is an adventure and life should be an adventure.

“We were invited by the golf club in November last year to take over the bar and restaurant and we decided to give it a try.

“We will have the same at the golf club as we have in the High Street The restaurant is for everyone, not just the members, people can pop, even if it is only for a coffee, they will be welcome.

“There are seven staff, plus me, at both the High Street and the golf club, so we are doubling the workforce. We will see when we open how busy we will be and we’ll see if we need more staff.”

The new restaurant, which will operate Thursday to Sunday, opens its doors at 11am on Saturday.
