A 45-YEAR-OLD woman who admitted driving in the Borders while unfit through drink or drugs has been fined £600 and banned from the road for 14 months.
Selkirk Sheriff Court heard Holly Mitchell came to the attention of police after her Honda Civic collided with a wall outside her home at The Orchard, Lauder, on January 2 last year.
She also pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, failing to identify the driver when asked, and driving without insurance.

Mitchell’s solicitor, Ed Hulme, said his client was a first offender and struggled with an alcohol addiction.
He added she had no idea where she intended to go in the vehicle and hugely regrets her actions.
In addition to the fine, Mitchell was also ordered to pay a £40 victim surcharge.
