POLICE have advised that a new scam email targeting TV Licence holders in the Scottish Borders is in circulation.
The fake emails claim direct debits have failed and their TV Licence could not be automatically renewed.
Users are encouraged to click on unknown links and supply their bank details to set up a new Direct Debit.

The email threatens that your TV Licence may be cancelled and your details passed to a debt collection agency.
These emails are NOT genuine, do not click any links or give any bank details.

Emails and letters from TV Licensing are personalised to include information such as your name, part of your postcode or your licence number. They would never ask for bank details over email.
Scam emails can be forwarded to report@phishing.gov.uk
