THE Galashiels Amateur Operatic Society returned to the Volunteer Hall this week after a two-year absence to perform the toe-tapping, hand-jiving musical Grease.

The audience were transported back to 1959 at Rydell High School and those fortunate enough to have secured a much-prized ticket for the sell-out show were in for a treat.

Tell me more, tell me more:

OK, the wonderful Laurie Coburn and James Bennett are perfectly cast as Sandy and Danny with fantastic support from the fantastic Pink Ladies and the tremendous T Birds. In fact they go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong.

Bursting with sing-a-long hits such as Summer Nights, You’re the One that I Want, Greased Lightening, Sandy, Hopelessly Devoted and Grease is the Word, there are worse things you could do than spend the night at the Volley.
