A 65-YEAR-OLD Selkirk man has been disqualified from driving at the town’s sheriff court for 12 months for a drink driving offence.
Fraser Bennett, of Clifton Road, was involved in an accident on the A708 road near the Waterwheel restaurant on the evening of November 6.
A roadside breath test proved positive but Bennett did not provide a urine sample at Borders General Hospital when requested to do so.

He told police he did not want to provide a sample if a medical professional was not present but Selkirk Sheriff Court was told he was being “difficult”.
The court also heard that after the accident he was spotted holding a half bottle of Glen’s vodka and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
In addition to the year-long ban he was fined £250 with a £20 victim surcharge added.
