A NEW manufacturing development is unlikely any time soon on the site of a former Borders mill, members of full council will be informed next week.
The former Eildon Mill site at Tweedbank has been cleared for several years now and is ready for development.
Despite no significant progress the council is still committed to establishing a “building of significance” on the land.

A report to SBC said: “Initial discussions about a potential manufacturing development have not been concluded and are at this stage unlikely.
“The council remains focused on finding a developer for this site that would intend to form a building of significance appropriate to its priority location adjacent to the Borders Railway terminus and are currently exploring potential options in data driven innovation with key partners.”
The Eildon Mill building was demolished early in 2019.
