A NEW independent book shop is opening in the Scottish Borders today Saturday April 1.

Heron & Willow will open its doors at 4 Canongate, Jedburgh.

And this is not an April fool. If you don’t believe us, ask one of Scotland’s most popular authors, Ian Rankin who told his 212.5k followers on Twitter.

The owners collected the keys to the shop in February which was formerly occupied by Vee Bee’s and have been working hard to prepare for the day when they finally open to the public.

So pop along and support another local business in the Borders. And check out the range of lovely books, records and some other handpicked bits and pieces.

The shop will be open from 09:00 - 16:00 and then again from 17:00 - 21:00.

Find out how opening day went in next week’s Border Telegraph.
