The first official opening celebration of the trout fishing season on the Tweed took place earlier this month in Peebles.

Over a hundred people attended the event during the day.

A piper-led procession from The Tontine Hotel to the banks of the river at Tweed Green culminated with broadcaster and angling enthusiast, Fiona Armstrong blessing the river and casting the first line of the trout season.
