In the Cup Kelso Harlequins beat Melrose Wasps 34-0 and Jed-Thistle beat Gala Wanderers 24-7.

The final was a hard-fought affair with no quarter asked or given.

After a scoreless first half it was Jed that took the lead with a try midway through the second-half. The conversion attempt struck the post and that was to prove costly because in the dying minutes, Kelso broke through the Jed defence to touch down under the posts leaving a simple conversion.

And that was the end of the scoring with the newly named Jim Telfer Cup going to the Quins.
