PUPILS who smoke, vape and puncture hairspray cans could be barred from school transport.
A meeting of Innerleithen and District Council earlier this month heard that a minority of pupils are still causing problems on the school buses to Peebles High School.
Tweeddale East councillor Marshall Douglas said: “There are great problems throughout the Borders and certain pupils could be banned.”
He added there would be increased communication with pupils’ parents.
In addition passes which the children need to board buses will be reissued next year to make sure the right children are on the correct bus.
