MORE than 120 vehicles were stopped as part of police checks on a major Borders road this week.
On Tuesday (April 25), officers from the council-funded Community Action Team led the probes on the A68 in Jedburgh.
A total of 124 vehicles were stopped, with one being seized immediately for having no insurance and another given a fixed penalty ticket due to a lack of MOT.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A further 23 drivers were either given advice or instruction under the vehicle rectification scheme to have problems with tyres, lights, documentation or tinted windows, fixed within 21 days.”
