A GALASHIELS audience was blown away by a Highland dancing spectacular recently in the Volunteer Hall.

The show, called Come Alive, showcased a combination of contemporary and traditional routines.

Tracey Graham, owner of the Graham School of Highland Dancing, in the town, which ran the event, said: “I have been overwhelmed by the response to the show, it was such a fantastic night with almost 200 people in the audience which, for a small school, is just amazing.

“We had children from as young as only three years old up to our senior dancers perform. They were absolutely brilliant, and I am so proud of them.

“We were also joined by Melrose and District Pipes and Drums which gave the audience a real surprise and the children loved it.

“I would like to thank our main sponsors Aitken Turnbull architects, and the whole team who made it the showcase it was.

“We wanted the audience to 'come alive' with the show, and we think they did, so we’re delighted, and can’t wait for the next one.

“We’ll be putting on another show later in the year so we hope to see the Volunteer Hall jam-packed next time”
