A 31-YEAR-OLD Selkirk man has been remanded in custody at the town’s sheriff court.
Ross Gourlay had been released on bail supervision after pleading guilty to theft of a television by shoplifting last Tuesday.
But he failed to make the first appointment the next day because the bus from Selkirk was not running on time and he was not able to phone as his phone had ran out of credit.
Gourlay was arrested and appeared from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday when he pleaded guilty to breaching his conditional supervised bail.
Sheriff Peter Paterson refused Gourlay bail and remanded him in custody until May 22 for the production of a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Restriction of Liberty Order assessment.
