PLANS have been put on the agenda to widen the access road at Borders General Hospital.
A planning application submitted to Scottish Borders Council this week also outlines a major reconfiguration of the parking regime at the Melrose hospital, together with other associated works.
More than 20 residents in nearby Huntlyburn Terrace have been notified of the plans by NHS Borders, which include an increase in car parking spaces.
The work will require the removal of hedging and an existing island pedestrian footpath and the widening of an existing footpath, together with the relocation of signposts.
