DANCE was the theme of the latest performance by a Peeblesshire group.

Members of the Fiona Henderson School of Dance had a wonderful weekend at the Eastgate Theatre, where the junior school pupils held their annual showcase.

The two sold-out shows of ‘Dance, Dance, Dance’ last weekend (May 27-28) saw a mix of styles performed – all including brilliant costuming and stage effects.

Fiona Henderson, school principal and artistic director, said: “Our Peebles junior school pupils excelled themselves and treated their audiences to a couple of wonderful shows.

“They all gave wonderful performances, and our teachers are incredibly proud of them.

“They all really shone on stage and gave their audiences a fabulous show and we couldn’t be happier for them.”

The two shows, which featured more than 100 dancers aged between five and 12 years old, included more than 800 costumes.

The school praised the hard work by teachers and pupils in recent months to prepare for the showcase.

The Fiona Henderson School of Dance is now setting its sights on its first ever showcase in Biggar, due to be held this weekend on Sunday (June 4). Pupils then have a summer of exams and dance camps to look forward to, and senior students will make a welcome return to the Edinburgh Fringe in August.
