A SPECTACULAR sporting clay pigeon shoot in the Borders has raised an estimated £100,000 in aid of 3 charities, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, the QME care Dementia Unit Kelso and Prostate Scotland.

The event which was organised by Eskdale Shooting Services, took place at the Duke of Northumberland’s Burncastle Estate and attracted sporting shooters from throughout the UK and Overseas.

The clay shoot event was run by Richard Clarke’s Six Mile Bottom shoot www.sixmilebottomshoot.co.uk

A total of 26 teams took to the field.

The event was a team flush over 6 stands. As one participant commented: “It was wonderful to be part of a great community and help such good causes. Everyone has been so generous and the day was full of good camaraderie and humour as you would expect.”

The winning team were the Border Bandits, Jim Brodie, Josh Keeble, Andy Dunsmuir, Struan Brodie with Richard Clarke.

Runners up were Wilson Young Jnr, Arthur DeMoulas, Richard Clarke Graham Creed, and George Digweed.
