SATURDAY June 24 2023 is Armed Forces Day and marks the closing of Armed Forces Week.

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for those in the armed forces community.

NHS Borders says that it is proud to be a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Covenant is a pledge that those who currently serve or have served, and their families, should be treated fairly.

“I would like to thank NHS Borders staff and those in our wider community who have served in the military and remind them that NHS Borders is here to support past and present personnel, as well as their families, to ensure that their healthcare needs are met.

“Working with charities Defence Medical Welfare Services (DMWS) and Veterans First Point (part of NHS Borders Mental Health Services), allows us to offer practical and emotional support to ensure that no one goes through the worry of illness or injury alone.

“I would like to thank both these services for the important work they do and thank all NHS Borders staff for the assistance and support they provide to our armed forces, veterans and their families.”
