FOUR Berwickshire High School pupils have been placed in the top 20 in a National Reading Champions Quiz.
Willow Abbott, Tess Crilly, Darcy Martin and Amelia Lake represented the school in the quiz, which is run by the National Literacy Trust.
More than 400 UK teams competed over 20 heats and the Berwickshire High pupils qualified for the final where they put in a strong performance.

Afterwards, the pupils met Scottish Borders MP John Lamont for a tour of the Houses of Parliament, including the House of Commons, Westminster Hall and a terrace overlooking the River Thames.
Mr Lamont said: "Congratulations to these pupils on their incredible effort to reach the final of a UK wide competition, which started out with 400 teams.

"On behalf of Borders residents, I am very proud of what they achieved. They did very well and deserve a lot of praise.
"It was a pleasure to show this enthusiastic group of young people around the UK Parliament buildings and answer their keen questions."
