THE final proposals from the Boundary Commission for Scotland’s Review of UK Parliament constituencies mean that Clovenfords is likely to remain in Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk constituency.

The Boundary Commission for Scotland began its 2023 Review of UK Parliament constituencies in Scotland in January 2021.

Two Boundary Commission reports suggested the area should move to the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale constituency.

However the final 2023 Review Report, which was laid before Parliament on Tuesday June 28 recommends that no change for Clovenfords.

Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk constituency MP John Lamont welcomed the news.

He said: “I’ve been very proud to represent the people of Clovenfords so it’s welcome that the area will remain in my constituency of Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk.

“It is positive that the process has now concluded and I am pleased to have the chance to keep delivering on local people’s top priorities.

“If anyone has questions about this Boundary Commission change or wants to raise any other local issue with me, please get in touch.”
